Technically still newlyweds when we did this session mere days before their first anniversary, Maddie and Jason shared the same giddiness they had at their wedding a year earlier. My heart melts every time I see these two look at each other. To love one another like these two do will inevitably bring out the best in each other, and that is exactly what Maddie and Jason do as a couple.
But it’s not only the best in each other that they bring out; this couple makes everyone around them better! Between Maddie’s gift of seeing beauty and triumph in every person and situation imaginable, and Jason’s ability to bring humor to any conversation and a smile to everyone’s face, the two of them together are like a flood light in any night sky. I could hang around them for hours on end, even days or weeks, and only want more time with them.
In fact, I had the joy of experiencing precisely that this summer. You see, I am lucky enough to be sister-in-law to these two and to have spent nearly two months living under the same roof as them while visiting my in-laws with my family. During this unusual time of Covid, quarantining on a bountiful Washington farm amongst family proved to be just the ticket for us all. The opportunity to know Jason and Maddie so well–to exchange groggy morning greetings day in and day out, to double date, and to watch my kids fall in love with their aunt and uncle–was one I will always treasure. To love them is a joy. To be loved by them after they’ve seen me for two straight months at my highs and lows and everything in between is a humbling blessing.
I adore these two and I don’t doubt that anyone else who ever meets them will feel the same. Let’s be honest, I think you may just fall in love with them looking at them!
